As a reminder, the DPS Pre-Conference event will be held on Monday, October 23rd and Tuesday, October 24th at the Courtyard Marriott at Carolina Beach.

We are pleased to share with you the 2017 Conference brochure and activities. The Conference Planning Committee has done an outstanding job identifying workshops to accommodate a variety of skill levels and interests. This Fall we are extremely excited about our partnership with the North Carolina Teen Court Association for the Business Exchange and Networking Event. Our signature Lip Sync Battle, Dance, and Game Night activities are guaranteed to keep the young and young at heart entertained as well.

NCJSA members who prefer to mail registration forms may continue to send completed forms with payment to the NCJSA P.O. Box. Keep in mind you also have the option to register on-site as well. For your convenience, the 2017 Spring Conference Registration Form is attached. As a reminder, the conference registration deadline is March 8, 2017.
The 2017 Conference Planning Committee is accepting “Call for Presenter” forms until February 14, 2017. Therefore, the conference agenda will be released in the upcoming weeks.

A tentative 2016 Fall Conference Agenda is now available. The agenda is approximately 90% complete as we await final confirmations for speakers on Thursday, October 27th. As you review the agenda, please keep in mind scheduled events and activities remain subject to change.
Some central and eastern counties have been devastated by Hurricane Matthew. While 1-40 to Wilmington and Carolina Beach areas appear to be in good condition, the NCJSA Board of Directors encourages you to check road conditions prior to departure. There may be some detours and road closures that could cause increased travel time.
Please drive safely and stay alert. We look forward to seeing you there!

The North Carolina Juvenile Services Association is pleased to issue a “Call for Presenters” for our upcoming Fall Conference. To make this conference a success, we need juvenile services professionals to share their experiences and expertise.
Professionals from juvenile services and other human service fields attend NCJSA conferences to network and share innovative program service approaches being implemented within the juvenile justice system.
Prospective workshop presenters are encouraged to submit proposals on a variety of topics including, but not limited to Parenting, Evidence-Based Practices, and the Use of Technology in Working with Families and Youth.
Workshop proposals will be reviewed with preference given to workshop proposals that are based on relevancy, best practices, audience participation and skill-building. Conference workshops should be 90 minutes or 120 minutes in length allowing time for questions and answers. NCJSA encourages prospective presenters to bring handouts and visual aids.
